If you didn’t know already: IE does not display this site correctly, due to web standards. Most importantly IE is susceptible to viruses, and spyware; due to Microsoft’s inability to patch it’s own browser in a timely manner. So I highly recommend, a safe, more standards compliant browser such as Mozilla Firefox.

6 days left…

March 25th, 2006

I am a short-timer (most people call me that. Others call me “asshole”, in a friendly way, of course) at WDPRO. I have 6 days (business days) left before I leave for ABC.com. As a WDPRO tradition, when good people leaves WDPRO, they go on the Wall of Fame in Ben’s cube. Last night, I was officially honored a spot on that wall. (Thanks, Ben!)

I will miss WDPRO (even if they only worked on websites for kiddie theme parks)…

I am proud of my Lakers…

March 25th, 2006

In the last few games, my Lakers have been playing well. And I am proud of them.

Finally, the team seems like it’s gellin’ together. We don’t have to rely on Kobe scoring all the points anymore. We have 4 other scoring threats starting along side of him.

  • Smush - he’s quick and will drive to the hole
  • Odom - he’s a threat everywhere now. He can take the three, post up smaller SFs, or out dribble slower PFs
  • Cookie - extremely dangerous jump shooter
  • Kwame - explosive player

Other notable Lakers…

  • George - playing excellent defense lately
  • Luke - much confident in his offense now
  • Mihm - really stepped up his game all around. Playing better D. Getting less fouls. Improved his midrange shoot. Too bad he’s injured right now.
  • Bynum - shows promise.

Odom and Kwame really stepped it up lately. Odom is playing more aggressively and confidently. Kwame found a niche for himself on the team. And he’s finally CATCHING the ball now!

GO LAKERS!

Couple interesting blog posts…

March 24th, 2006

Oh, Ben, why do you have to introduce me to so many cool blogs?…

Anyway, I read a couple thought provoking blogs today. Here’s my “book report”…
One of us is smarter than all of us: This post talks about why two head ISN’T always better than one.

The wisdom of crowds comes not from the consensus decision of the group, but from the aggregation of the ideas/thoughts/decisions of each individual in the group.

How to Become an Early Riser: Hmmm…you know what this post is about…

Does Detroit hate America?

March 20th, 2006

Here’s an interesting article titled, “Does Detroit hate America?”

The article questions why American auto makers are consistantly rebadging european models and selling them as “American” cars. No wonder American auto makers are not doing well. They are selling cars that are tailored for Europeans, and not Americans.

I agree with the article. American cars have lost their distinctive style the past few decades. And it’s funny that the only company that is still making American flavored cars is Daimler Chrysler, a company that is half German.

BRING BACK THE AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS!

350z is gonna be a movie star!

March 20th, 2006

It looks like the upcoming The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift will feature some 350z! In the pictures above, there’s 5 of them. From the trailers, it looks like the main 350z will be this one…

It’s probably going to be another lame movie, but I am huge sucker for movies that have cool cars in it. ;)

Check out the trailers here.

I left my computer on at work over the weekend and Firefox claimed over 600M of memory! EEEK!!!

Will IE 7 be better than Firefox?

I am going to ABC.com!

March 18th, 2006

For those of you that have not heard yet, I AM GOING TO ABC.COM!

I have not gotten the official paper yet, but everything have been verbally confirmed. And apparently, I don’t sign a thing since this is more of an internal transfer than a new job. The pay is set. The position is set. And the date is set. I start there on 4/4. That leaves me 2 weeks and a day left at WDPRO.

The remaining weeks at WDPRO will be busy. I’ll spend half my time wrapping up my current project. I don’t really want to ditch my tech PM in the middle of the project, but I don’t really want to stick around for 2 monthes. I think the project will do fine without me. The other half of the time will probably involve people sucking knowledge outta my brain.

Stay tuned for my review of ABC.com in two weeks… ;)
