If you didn’t know already: IE does not display this site correctly, due to web standards. Most importantly IE is susceptible to viruses, and spyware; due to Microsoft’s inability to patch it’s own browser in a timely manner. So I highly recommend, a safe, more standards compliant browser such as Mozilla Firefox.

Good and bad…

October 13th, 2005

You can’t appreciate the good things in life until you have endured the bad…

My time…

October 12th, 2005

So I was in a 2 and a half year relationship not too long ago. During that 2 and a half years, there were times I wished I had more time to myself, more time to do the stuff I want to do. I wanted to spend more time with my friends. I wanted to spend more time improving myself. And sometimes, I just wanted more time to do NOTHING. :) Well, as my friend Robert warned, “Be careful what you wish for…” I ended up getting what I wished for. ;)

I did end up with more time to hang out with my friends. Including my upcoming SEMA trip, I would’ve gone to Vegas 3 times within 3 monthes. I also spent some weekends with friends and family at Disneyland. And I have a camping/surfing trip this coming weekend at El Capitan with a couple co-workers. It’ll be fun!

As far as improving myself, I’ve been reading more. The book I’ve been reading lately is called “The Ten Day MBA.” It is supposed to teach you all the stuff you’d learn in a MBA program. I am not substituting the book for the real MBA program. I just want to get a feel of what it is all about before committing myself to it. So far, so good. The chapter on marketing is quite interesting. It definitely makes me analyse all the business decisions that goes on a bit more closely. I am on the accounting chapter now. It’s kinda boring. That’s why I am blogging instead. ;)

For my “fun” book, I am reading “Ultramarathon Man: The Confessions of an All-Night Runner.” It’s definitely an interesting and motivating book. I recommend it.

Anyway, enough procrastinating, I should get back to my accounting chapter :)

Good night

NEW CAMERA!

Originally uploaded by elyliu.

I am having a pretty good night tonight. Actually, it didn’t start out so well.

My chatty mouth blabbed too long and I almost missed my bball game tonight. Because I was late, I didn’t get a chance to grab a bite before the game. I was just running on the 125 calories that each of my 3 bottles of Gatorade provided. Poor me…

Anyway, on to the good stuff, WE WON TONIGHT! The ROCKS (my team) have won 4 straight and we are now third in our league (I think). We were playing the third place team, or should I say “EX” third place team. ;) We kicked their butts! Kiniatta hit a couple big 3s toward the end of the game, and Brian nailed the game with his clutch free throws. We are on a good roll. GO ROCKS!

I also got a chance to re-install my OS (Tiger) on my iBook tonight. Now internet is working on my mac again! WOOO!

After 8 days of waiting, my new digital camera has finally arrived! It’s smaller than I last remembered it from Circuit City. It’s actually about the same size as my cell phone. Well, that could mean 2 things. Either my new camera is tiny, or my cell phone is huge. I think it’s the latter. Verizon, MAKE SMALLER PHONES! I’ll play with the camera some more tomorrow at work…

And lastly…Cheetos are yummy :)

Good night…

Poster Girl

Just when I thought I’d go through one day in North Hollywood without seeing something silly, I run into this vandalized poster. The good ol’ adding-mustache-to-a-picture prank never gets old :)

And one more thing, FLICKR ROCKS!

Bell-bottom birds

Decided to try out this Russian restaurant by work today, and WOW, what an interesting place in the middle of crummy North Hollywood. It’s totally jungle-y in there with trees, rocks, waterfalls, and animals (most birds) wondering around. Here’s a picture of these crazy birds with bell-bottoms! Also here’s a link to a video of these crazy birds…LINK. You’ll need QuickTime 6.5 or higher to play this video (blame LG for using this weird video compression on their phones).

The book 2

Flickr doesn’t currently let you order prints. After poking around the web, I found QOOP. Looks pretty cool. Now they just have to start offering printing individual photos…

Attack of the vampires?

Attack of the vampires?

Originally uploaded by elyliu.

After the triathlon, I got these cuts around my ankle. At first I thought I got cut by the crank of my bike, but…the crank is on the right side and my cuts are on the left side.

So…could I have been attacked by vampires?

OR…was it just the little timing chip we had to wear during the triathlon?…

Hmmm…MUST BE VAMPIRES!

Yay for elyliu.com!

Finally got elyliu.com set up. It is no longer just pointing to google :)

I’ll finish setting up the blog when I got some time
